Vacation Rental Website Design
Websites for Short-Term Rental and Co-Hosting Companies
When your properties only live on third-party booking platforms, guests can’t see your full collection in one place, and your brand disappears behind someone else’s. A growing rental or co-hosting company needs its own home online.
Surge River designs vacation rental websites that let guests browse every property you manage, show off the amenities and experiences that set you apart, and give property owners a reason to work with you.
What a Vacation Rental Website Needs
Your site has two audiences: guests ready to book, and owners deciding who should manage their home.
All properties in one place
A central property search with filters by location, so guests can compare every stay you manage without bouncing between platforms.
Rich listing pages
Photo galleries, detailed descriptions, guest capacity, and reviews on every property, so guests can book with confidence.
Amenities and experiences
Extras like private chef dinners or in-home spa treatments are a real differentiator, but only if guests can see them.
A path for property owners
A clear section explaining your co-hosting or management services, so owners can see why they should work with you.
A brand with personality
Guests remember a stay that feels considered. Your site should carry the same look and feel as your properties.
Mobile first
Most guests browse stays on their phones. Galleries, filters, and listing details have to work well on a small screen.

Case Study
Canopy Collective
Canopy Collective is a short-term rental co-hosting company with stays across the Catskills and Hudson Valley, from creek-side cabins to Scandinavian-inspired retreats. Their Squarespace site sent guests to a third-party platform, had no central place to browse properties, and hid their amenities entirely.
We redesigned the site around two audiences, guests first and property owners second:
- Property search across all destinations, with filtering by location in the Catskills and Hudson Valley
- Listing pages with photo galleries, descriptions, guest capacity, and reviews
- A section for their amenities, from chef-led dinners to in-residence spa treatments
- Their existing brand colors kept, with new typography and navigation rebuilt for both guests and owners
Canopy Collective now has a centralized booking experience, a stronger brand presence, and a clear path for both guests and property owners.
"Surge River is a fantastic firm. With decades of experience working with web design companies of all sizes, I can confidently say that Mike brought professionalism, expertise, and real peace of mind to the entire process. I tasked him with several UX challenges, and he delivered thoughtful solutions that only elevated our site. The finished website for our short-term rental business exceeded anything I had imagined and clearly differentiates us in the market. I highly recommend!"
Your Own Site vs. Listing Platforms Alone
Listing platforms are great for reach, and most rental companies will keep using them. But a guest who finds you there sees your property next to hundreds of others, in someone else's design. Your own website is where repeat guests come back, where your brand gets to show its personality, and where owners go to decide whether you should manage their home.
